Sweden - Diego's Semester Abroad

In January 2006, Diego went for a semester abroad in Boras, Sweden. A little town in the southwest of Sweden with a population of around 50,000. With temperatures going well below -30 degrees, and sunsets at 3 PM it took a few days to adjust from the all year round Sinaloa summer. Diego's most valuable useful garment in Sweden was his face mask!

At the University of Boras, mandatory Swedish was by the far the most difficult course for Diego. Which up to this date, is the ONLY course he has ever failed! In Diego's defense, when everyone in Sweden speaks English and a good percentage speaks Spanish, it is hard to be motivated to learn Swedish. At the end of the semester, Diego ended up making great friends for life and they keep in touch frequently until this day!
